Hiring Kim as our Doula for Logan's birth was one of the best decisions we made to help ensure a positive experience for everyone.  We hired Kim quite late in my pregnancy, about 8 months along.  Prior to my guess date we met with Kim twice to discuss our birth preferences and what type of support we would like from her.  During the weeks that followed she was a great support especially as my pregnancy seemed to go on and on!  Kim was consistently checking in with me to see how things were going and offering every idea she could come up with to help induce labour naturally.  During my labour and Logan's birth Kim provided support both for me, and especially for my husband Mitchell.  Not surprisingly, our labour and birth did not go exactly how we had imagined it and Kim helped us navigate those unexpected events and decisions.  Due to HypnoBirthing I was often very unresponsive during labour so Kim provided Mitchell someone he could talk to and discuss what was happening.  We were able to have a natural birth with minimal interventions because of Kim's knowledge of labour and birth and her objective help making decisions.  Unfortunately Logan was taken to Neonatal Intensive Care (for a short time) after he was born.  Mitchell was able to go with him while Kim stayed with me.  Amidst contradictory information, Logan and I had a few problems getting started breastfeeding and it was Kim's support and knowledge that encouraged me that things were going okay and would improve.  As Mitchell and I got to know Logan, Kim offered emotional and practical support on all the things we were quickly learning about babies.  I have, and will continue to recommend Kim's Doula services to our pregnant friends.

-----------------------------------------------------------

We tried cloth diapering with our son, but didn't stick it through, mostly due to lack of support and not knowing proper washing techniques. No one I knew cloth diapered at the time.

With our daughter, we decided to try again. This time around, with much support from a friend who had cloth diapered, things went better. We bought some used diapers from her, and they worked pretty well, and although the style wasn't bulky, it didn't absorb a lot, and we had frequent "blow outs".

I saw Kim's booth at a mom/baby expo and liked the Mother Ease AIO, but didn't buy any (couldn't really justify the extra expense). But after one too many "blow outs", gave Kim a call. It was a Saturday night, and after the kids were in bed, I went over to Kim's and bought several Mother Ease AIO. We couldn't believe how wonderful they were. They went on a squirming baby easily, and absorbed so well. Pretty much as well as a disposable did - without all that yucky gel inside. We never once have had a "blow out".
We've used them every day for almost 1 1/2 years and they're still going strong. No signs of wearing. No wicking. No smell issues. They're amazing.
I'll be a bit sad when she's diaper-free, as they've been such a great investment, but I'll be happy to pass them on to another family, and know there's still lots of life left in them!
Thanks Kim for an amazing service - where else could I buy cloth diapers on a Saturday night? You've helped us be a full time cloth diaper family for 1 1/2 years!!
